Our Pistol 101 class is designed to give shooters a solid understanding of firearms safety and function, proper range etiquette, loading and unloading procedures, and the 7 elements of marksmanship. These are the fundamental building blocks for all firearm applications. If you are a new firearm owner, or you have been to the range a number of times but would like to improve your accuracy and control, this is a great class to join. If precision is not a problem but you would like to shoot faster, we will discuss the tools for that as well.
“Firearms 101” Lecture and Q&A - The training will be focused on responsible firearms ownership – from purchasing your first firearm to discussing training, licensing, and other key considerations, including safe storage.
Magen Am’s goal of the evening is to ensure that every individual and family who is considering the responsibility of utilizing firearms in your personal safety plan is equipped with the knowledge and information they need to be as effective as possible.
This class will also feature a hands-on demonstration to maximize what will be taught. You can expect the following to be covered during the training:
Learning and implementing the critical four rules of gun safety
Understanding the options of firearms and why you might choose one over the other
Insight into the need for consistent learning and training
Legal considerations in realizing there is a third fight to be prepared for
How to be a responsible firearm owner
For our Pistol 101 class, you must provide your own ammo. There is ammo for sale at the range office, which opens at 8 am. You must be at least 21 years old and have a valid ID to purchase it. If you are borrowing one of our firearms, we use 9 mm ammo. We suggest purchasing 100 rounds, though it is possible that you won't use them all.
For our Private Sessions: ammo is included in the training.
